Hello, and welcome to Lighthouse Explorers. You are just a few minutes away from becoming a certified Lighthouse Explorer! My name’s Annie, and it’s officially on record that I’m not a real lighthouse keeper. I’m just a wannabe. However, I am dedicated to the cause and would love to share my enthusiasm for lighthouses with you!

I have a podcast over on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, where I explore lighthouses’ history, legends, and more. This is a good place to hide out if you want small nuggets of lighthouse goodness.
Lighthouses offer hope and safety to seafarers, and carry a certain sense of calm and serenity in contrast to the stormy seas they reside over. I hope you also find this a safe space to reside in, even if the stormy seas in your life are taking you for a ride.

Back in June, six of us climbed the gorgeous Southwold Lighthouse. At the time, we still had two more trips planned. Spirits were high that day; what… Continue reading Our Final Group Trip of 2025: Trinity Buoy Wharf Lighthouse

Spurn Point and Tynemouth were firmly set in the diary, for July and August respectively. Unfortunately, storms then hit the north east of England.… Continue reading The final chance to join the 2025 group trips
Talking to Ed Peppitt about his 3,500 mile cycle ride
This week, I had the great fortune to talk to Ed Peppitt about his travels around England and Wales. These included cycling 3,500 miles, spotting over 300 lighthouses, and raising over ÂŁ15,000 for Shift MS. Ed’s book, ‘The Beacon Bike’, is absolutely brilliant. In it, he shares the highs and lows of this huge undertaking.… Continue reading Talking to Ed Peppitt about his 3,500 mile cycle ride
If you prefer videos, I also go to lighthouses in person! Check out the YouTube playlist linked below to get involved.
And finally… if you have a favourite lighthouse, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I love a lighthouse (surprise), and will definitely feature it so that the rest of the Lighthouse Explorers family can enjoy it.
